Hello, I'm Alex

Being as I'm an athlete, I have always had a fascination with how the body moves and performs, so in 2016 I made the leap to become a professional certified Thai massage therapist.

When I first started, I was very shy and timid but with perseverance I was able to overcome this and work to help heal and soothe as many people as I could.

With well over 2200 hrs. of completed training and currently working towards starting my own training courses I can say I am absolutely grateful for being able to pour my heart into a craft that can help people get better.

Here's to loving what I do!

My Story

A born and raised Canadian and an athlete enthusiast. I have always been intrigued on how the body works and performs, which is partly due to my ten plus years of experience in rock climbing, but this enthusiasm didn't always translate into my professional life. I worked in all kinds of jobs ranging from construction to cashier, but regardless of the different types of jobs I had, nothing ever really excited me.

This is when I decided I needed something new, something I could be passionate about, and this is where massage comes in. I jumped head first, and to my surprise quickly caught on. I enjoyed learning all the small intricate muscles and was fascinated by how the body collectively worked together.

Performing traditional Thai massage

Once I finished school, I still had a thirst to learn more, so I booked the first flight to Northern Thailand to study Thai massage in Chiang Mai. I had the pleasure and opportunity to study there for three months under one of my favorite teachers, a blind instructor by the name of Mr. Nat who was a master in the technique. I was taught Thai massage techniques that involves using the hands, feet and elbows that also incorporated stretching of the body. In addition, I learned about the energy lines within the body and where their points on the body were. This was absolutely the best three months of my life and helped to aid fuel to my passion.

In the future, I plan to travel to Japan to learn Shiatsu, then hopefully be able to teach what I have learned, so I can create an impact of how people approach the body in the future. I believe what sets me apart from other massage therapists is that I maintain the idea that massage should be approached creatively and be adaptable to a person's needs. Each person is unique, and I make a solid effort to be flexible to them.
